The journey continues to Volcanoes National Park, home to the famous mountain gorillas and playful golden monkeys. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Virunga Mountains, explore bamboo forests, and learn about local Batwa culture at the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village.

Itinerary
Depart Kigali in the morning and drive through Rwanda’s scenic countryside. Make a stop at the Royal Palace in Nyanza to explore Rwanda’s royal history, then continue to Butare to visit the National Museum for insights into local culture and traditions. After a traditional lunch, continue to Nyungwe National Park, arriving in the late afternoon. Check into your lodge and spend the evening relaxing amidst the lush rainforest, preparing for the adventures ahead.
After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a chimpanzee trekking adventure. Accompanied by experienced guides, trek through dense rainforest in search of these fascinating primates, observing their behavior and interactions in the wild. In the afternoon, experience the canopy walk, suspended high above the forest floor, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Nyungwe’s greenery. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Depart Nyungwe after breakfast and travel to Volcanoes National Park in northwestern Rwanda. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and prepare for an afternoon golden monkey trek. Explore bamboo forests in search of these colorful, playful primates. Optionally, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to learn about the Batwa people and their traditions. End the day with dinner and an overnight stay, reflecting on an unforgettable Rwandan safari experience.
